# Introduction

Spoletta is a visual builder and engine for agent workflows. You draw a flow on a board, of the steps that happen and the things they work on, and Spoletta runs it: AI agents, scripts and people each do their part, and you can watch every step of every run.

*Diagram: A run part-way through: a person picked the release, an AI agent drafted the notes, and the run now waits for someone to approve them.*

## What you can build

A **flow** is any process your team repeats: fix the morning's top exceptions, write the release notes and get them signed off, triage support tickets, check a migration with three models before running it. Each step is carried out by whoever suits it best:

- **AI agents** read, write and change code, research, draft and decide, in git checkouts of your repositories and with the tools you give them.
- **Scripts** call APIs, run builds and transform JSON, the same way every time.
- **People** approve, send work back with instructions, or fill in what a run needs.
- **Connectors** such as Sentry fetch the work to do.

The board is the program. There is no glue code: the links on the board say what each step takes and what it hands on, and Spoletta works out the order, runs what can run in parallel, and keeps everything each step did.

## A language with a standard behind it

Flows are drawn in **OPM**, the Object-Process Methodology (ISO 19450). OPM has only two kinds of thing, objects and processes, joined by a small set of links, and every diagram also reads as plain English sentences. Learn it once and every flow, yours or a colleague's, reads the same way.
